In 2017, the new Downtown Pensacola Water Ferry will connect Downtown Pensacola to Pensacola Beach. This Ferry will provide passengers with a picturesque transportation method for their day at the beach. The National Park Service will operate the ferries, and will feature informational programs on board (via HD televisions) on local wildlife and ecotourism opportunities. Each ferry will be staffed by a park ranger and will have 3 ports of call: downtown Pensacola, Fort Pickens (Pensacola Beach), and the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk (in the core of Pensacola Beach).
